This is a list of climbers that we would normally stock each year. We will have other varieties available from time to time so if you don’t see what you want please ask. In the Priceguide the lower price is for the size of plant normally offered - a good planting size, Higher prices are for larger and specimen plants. We may at times have cheaper plants, offers, or discounts for bulk purchases. We can always quote you for your individual requirements. Most climbers are normally available for spring and/or autumn planting - not in mid-summer or winter.

Tips for growing climbing plants

Actinidia Kolomikta - striking climber with leaves variegated white, pink and green. White flowers in June. Height 4.5-6m. Plant on a south or west wall for best results. Priceguide £7-£15
Akebia Qiunata - semi-evergreen, twining habit, fragrant, small purple flowers in April. Height 9-12 m. sun or shade. Priceguide £6-£10
Aristolochia Durior ‘Dutchman's Pipe’ - vigorous with heart shaped leaves, unusual tubular bent flowers, greenish purple in June. Height up to 9m. Sun or shade. Priceguide £10-£15
Campsis Radicans ‘Trumpet Vine - exotic looking climber with brilliant orange scarlet trumpet flowers in August-Sept. Needs full sun.The variety Flava has rich yellow flowers. Priceguide £6-£10

Clematis - a large and indispensable family of colourful climbers - they thrive best in full sun but like a cool moist root run.

Clematis Montana - very vigorous species up to 9 m. flowering profusely in May.

Clematis Orienthus - bell shaped yellow flowers in August and September. Fern like leaves, silky seed heads. Height up to 6m. the variety ‘Orange Peel’ has thick spongy sepals. Priceguide £5-£10
Clematis Tangutica - dense grower up to 4.5m. Rich yellow lantern like flowers in Autumn followed by silky seed heads. Lacy divided leaves. Priceguide £4.50-£7.50

Humulus Lupulus Aureus - the Golden Hop is a very vigorous climber with soft golden leaves and drooping yellowish-green flowers in late summer. Dies down to the ground each winter. Priceguide £5-£10
Hydrangea Petiolaris - self clinging climber slow growing but makes a large plant in time. Excellent on a north wall or in shade. Large white flowers in June. Priceguide £4-£12
Jasmines - fast-growing twining plants preferring a sunny position. Flowers are fragrant.
Jasmine Beesianum - deep pink fragrant flowers. May-June black berries.
Jasmine Officinale - very fragrant white flowers. June-Sept must be in sun.
